Our Next Event: Pets in the Park Saturday May 19th
at Waterfall Park in Independence

The City of Independence Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual “Pets in the Park,” an event for families and their pets, at Waterfall Park, 4501 S. Bass Pro Dr. This free event is provided with major support from the Kiwanis Club of Independence, The Examiner, D.O.G. (Dog Obedience Group), Animals Best Friends, PAW’S, B-Vogue, and the Independence Animal Shelter.

Members of Kiwanis Clubs across the world are known for their volunteer spirit. It is the same with our club.
A special thank you to all who participated in the February 28 Annual Chili Day! Your efforts raise funds for over eighteen community projects which support our children and youth!
But this is just the beginning!
You have opportunity to volunteer...
your voice (Read Around the World),
your brawn (strength), (Kiwanis One Day and Japanese Garden Day),
your appetite (Pancake Day--STEAK FRY),
your love (Mom's Baby Shower),
your joy (Pets in the Park),
your creativity and suavity (Key Club Banquet),
and your brain (Trivia Night)!
These are just the activities and events scheduled during the next four months!
Of course, our weekly lunches have some of the best programs of any club in Independence--every Tuesday--at Ophelia's (thanks to Barbara Langley). And we are always done by 1:00! Some of us have difficulty getting away for lunch, so we meet twice a month at Old Mexico Restaurant at 5:30. Check the newsletter sent to you by Judy Luffman every week for specifics.
